So much could be said about the color black. The Little Black Dress is a staple in every women's closet. It says classy and it is slimming. The statement "_____ is the new black" confirms it's tradition and even suggests popularity. Yet black also has a "dark side" frequently associated with goth and all things dark and gloomy. How can something so classic also be so sinister? I love the color black, but I have never dreamed of painting a room black. Most people probably fall into this category. We make so many attempts at making a room feel warm or bright and airy. Where interiors are concerned black usually does a great job behind the scenes as a beautiful accent, but has it just come center stage? Is Black the new White? Let's just say I think these rooms are awesome and I may be heading to home depot for some sinister black paint! Would you go Black?
Absolutely! Black may be classy or goth, but it really depends on individual interpretation and successful design. People forget that homes are an extension of themselves (fashion/style).
ReplyDeleteBlack rooms! I always thought I could do a navy blue room, but a black room seemed too gloomy. Yet it looks beautiful in these pictures you've posted. I like it! What room are you going to paint black?
ReplyDeleteChristy, be careful because once you go black you never go back.
