Going Backwards

I feel I should start at the very beginning. YAY!!! We purchased our first home! It is a townhouse in Atlanta called Urban Lofts at Maynard Terrace. It is a 2 bedroom / 2 bath/ with a small office and a 2 car garage. Ours was a foreclosure, and the previous tenants left us with stripped floors and zero kitchen, but that means we can customize it to our liking. Above is a picture of it when we bought the place. We have officially owned the place for a week and we have made some huge improvements. We have painted everything but the ceiling, baths, and master bedroom. Leeman has sanded and properly stripped the floors. We have stained the floors, and we have our first coat of poly on (only 2 more to go). My mom and I have assembled all of the kitchen cabinets (we still have to assemble drawers, shelves, and doors). We purchased those at Ikea and I plan to have an entire post on the process as well as the cost. If I ever need a job I am sure I could confidently work at home depot, lowes, and/ or ace hardware after visiting on average 2-3 times a day. I am also finding I am quite good at using a drill. Today we are placing the order for our carpet.

It is only fair we send a special thanks to our families for which we could not have done any of this. Thank you Eddie for getting us a great deal on Appliances (you saved us over $500). Thanks John for all your work on the a/c . Thanks mom for spending 5 hours in ikea playing kitchen architect and for the best chili. Thanks everyone!
